The Writer's Club & Wine Bar, Chiang Mai

Robert Tilley was a journalist when he first came to Chiang Mai, and as a journalist he knew that the best way to learn what’s going on in a city is to spend an evening at the local writers’ hang-out spot. But Robert found that Chiang Mai didn’t have such a place. So he started one. Now the Writer's Club is cozy little spot where writers or not can enjoy a good Thai or Western meal at a reasonable price and share stories. Robert also keeps his eye out for the best tasting budget wines he can find, including Thai wines which he says have become worth drinking since he has been in Thailand. - Scott Johnson
