Phuket Monkey School

For something a little different, head on over to the Phuket Monkey School. Here, the handlers demonstrate how monkeys were traditionally used in Thailand to scale tall trees and collect coconuts. They twist them around and around with their feet until the stems broke, and the fruit falls to the ground. Of course, the macaques here have been trained to perform all sorts of tricks, from riding bicycles to shooting basketball hoops. The shows are held at 10a, 11a, 1p, 2p and 4p most days and run for around forty minutes. Photo opportunities are also available. - Martin English
