Mount Gravatt Cemetery is immaculately maintained and has a pleasant environment, which is quite a change from other cemeteries that are often run-down, depressing and in desperate need of some care and attention. Opened in 1918, Mount Gravatt Cemetery is situated a stone's throw away from the thick bushland and eucalypts of the Toohey Forest and resides next to the natural bushland surrounding Griffith University. The cemetery is divided into three distinct areas the Monumental area with graves from 1918, the ANZAC section with graves of war veterans from 1962 and the Lawn area with graves dated from 1972.
