Adjacent to the Albion Fiveways intersection, the Normanby Hotel is an old "Queenslander" style building with enough characters to star in a movie. The glittering pokies almost seem out of place here, at one of Brisbane's oldest hotels. The bar staff knows all the regulars by name and visitors are encouraged to tell a tale with the best of them. Laughter often echoes off the thin wooden walls and the bar is always keeping one eye on soccer proceedings on the television sets.
