The Canberra Railway Museum provides a fascinating glimpse of history, and train lovers will be delighted by this hands-on display. The museum is located in a disused railway yard, and houses a collection of old steam engines and train carriages. The highlight of the exhibit is Loco 1210, one of Australia's oldest steam locomotives, built in 1878. There is a collection of vintage carriages and wooden sleepers. Visitors are able to climb aboard the trains, so the exhibition is very popular with children of all ages. Hours vary on last Sundays of the month. The space can also be hired for hosting private or group events and meets. Check website for varying date timings.
