Aura Cafe, Hobart

This hillside venue overlooks the town of Kingston and the Derwent River. There is a lovely outdoor patio to while away the hours in the warmer months, and in cooler times an inviting contemporary indoor area. The menu and wine list are small, but very well-chosen and reasonably priced. You may want to indulge in the chicken scaloppini marsala, the sesame seared Tasmanian salmon or possibly the tempura king prawns. There are also sweet treats to complete your choices like the lime and coconut pannacotta with praline and roasted coconut, or the tasty oven-baked lemon curd tart. Only a short, fifteen-minute drive south of Hobart will bring you to the door. Call ahead for timings.
