Right in the middle of Salamanca Square stands Barcelona European, a favorite breakfast and lunch venue with locals and travelers alike. However, in the evening Barcelona European is packed with the after work crowd. On Friday nights, its standing room only so if you can come a little early to find a great spot in front of the open fire in the winter or outside under an umbrella in the summer, please do. From Eggs Benedict to thick juicy burgers, the food is good and very reasonably priced. There is an extensive wine list and very good beer on tap. Barcelona European is a great place to spend some relaxing time and only a five-minute walk from the center of town.
