Crown Inn (The), Hobart

The tiny village of Pontville was once the resting spot on the coach road from Hobart to Launceston. This pub was the watering hole back in the mid 1800's. Since then it has been transformed into a favorite eating establishment for the locals and travelers alike. In keeping with the old world history of the place, the decor inside is still Bushranger style, with some tin walls amongst the wood and original black and white photos from yesteryear. The food is country style, excellent and great value. Reservations really are a must. The easy fifteen minute drive north of Hobart will be well worth the effort.
