This is one of Hobart's best kept secrets, according to Japanese food purists. The owner, Aki Umenura, only has the best and freshest ingredients in his kitchen, and the menu is absolutely authentic, not westernized as in most asian-style restaurants. The menu, of course, includes wonderful fresh sashimi and sushi, along with tempura vegetables and seafood, miso broth with silken tofu cubes, teriyaki beef and chicken, and a bento box with both raw and cooked delicacies. You may also want to top off your meal with bowl of green tea ice cream, which is made on the premises. The prices are very reasonable, which simply means you can sample the fare on multiple occasions. Just a short 10 minute drive north of Hobart will bring you to the door.
