This tiny, unpretentious restaurant on the shore of Bellerive Quay is just one block from the waterfront. This venue is not well known in Hobart, but the locals discovered it several years ago and it has become very popular, so much so that if you do not have reservations, or if you arrive after 6p, you probably won't find a seat. The kari laksa with prawn balls, prawns, chicken, tofu and bean sprouts is heavenly. There are also several stir fry's to tantalize your taste buds, such as the lemongrass, garlic, and ginger, or the cashew and Thai chili, and of course the old standbys like pad Thai or tom yum. After your meal, take a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the view. Lime and Lemongrass opens daily at 4.30p. Closing times vary, but they are always open late. Call for details.
