Pier One Restaurant & Bar, Hobart

This modern venue is located in the Wrestpoint Casino complex and is right on the shore of the Derwent River. In the summer, dine outside on the pier. In the cooler months, sink into the overstuffed chairs in the bar area with a libation before your meal and then enjoy a sumptuous lunch or dinner, which might include Tasmanian salmon crusted with salted capers and brioche and stuffed with horseradish butter, or possibly the seared scallops with crispy pancetta. You might also try one of the many gourmet pizzas offered straight from a wood-fire oven. In the afternoon, a tapas menu is also available. This establishment is a short 5-minute drive from Hobart, and many of the city buses run right past the door. Open daily from 11a till late.
