Baretto Espresso Bar, Melbourne

Strategically positioned opposite the University of Melbourne's main campus, Baretto dishes up economical breakfasts, coffees, and lunch to a university crowd. Apart from the hot breakfasts, which are cooked to order, most food is pre-prepared and on display. This makes for quick service and a tempting range of no-fuss meal options, including Boscastle Pies, wraps, pastas, pastries, and salads. While the food is quick and cheap, Baretto is leagues ahead of your average university cafeteria. The décor is all sophisticated neutrals, sharp-edged furniture, huge, spherical pendant lights and tall walls of glass. As the name suggests, the coffee's good too.
