Becco, Melbourne

Becco is a restaurant, produce store, and bar all rolled into one. A relative newcomer, it has earned resounding praise in atmosphere, food, service and presentation and has already won "Good Food Guide" and Wine List of the Year Awards.The bar is identified by large yellow rectangles and the space is decidedly lazy and comfortable. Undecorated by artwork, Becco is from the "less is more" school of thought.The menu? Stunningly modern Australian with a strong Italian influence. Try beetroot ravioli with parmesan and butter sauce or roast duck with muscatel and grappa sauce. The four page wine list features beautiful Victorian wines.
