Perth's first purpose-built school, Old Perth Boys School was built in 1854. Set for demolition in 1977, it received a last minute reprieve and was lovingly restored, thanks to the National Trust. The building's design reflects the architect's passion for ecclesiastical architecture. Constructed out of local limestone, it features a steeply pitched timber ceiling and Gothic windows. Reveleys Cafe and Wine Bar now operates at the site. Visitors can enjoy the buildings spectacular interior over lunch and a glass of local wine.
