Azafran Tapas, Sydney

Arriving on the Surry Hills dining scene in early 2010, Azafran Tapas quickly won over the hard-to-please neighborhood with its mix of traditional and modern Spanish tapas dishes. The cosy Crown Street eatery, decked out with chandeliers and candlelight is a prime pick for that first date, but the share-everything menu makes it an ideal venue for groups too. Confit pork belly with onion puree is the signature dish, but the best thing about tapas is ordering lots of different things to try, like the twice smoked chicken breast or Manchego cheese croquettes. For dessert there are classic Spanish churros on offer.
