Forresters (The), Sydney

For many years, this local pub had little more to offer than a cheap steak. But with new owners (who also run The Abercrombie and The Norfolk), this faded favorite was transformed in early 2012 into a hip haven. The interior is now a slick mix of a Mexican and Italian diner, with some nice indoor/outdoor areas that will keep smokers happy in the winter. The new menu is simple, but has plenty of flavorful options, with bar snacks like polenta chips or mac and cheese, and a selection of thin crust pizzas.
