Harts Pub, Sydney

There’s no denying the historic value of Hart’s Pub, originally a residential building in Sydney’s oldest suburb before becoming a pub in the 1980s. It’s most recent renovation, in early 2010, has given the old place a bit of a face-lift, including an upgrade to the kitchen. The result is that the menu has been upgraded too, from simple pub fare to more inventive dishes, many of which owe their origins to the USA. Their signature entree is the rock poppers, jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese then crumbed and deep fried; but if you’re feeling more adventurous, tuck into the Cajun spiced crocodile strips.
