Hiding just off Kings Cross's main drag, KL Kitchen has scored itself a piece of real estate that's right in the thick of things, but protected from the often overwhelming buzz of Darlinghurst Road. Previously known as Little Penang, KL Kitchen has retained the services of chef Irene Chin, who specializes in Malaysian food (with a few modern Asian dishes added to the mix). You can't go wrong with a seafood laksa or a classic beef rendang and roti canai on the side, but more adventurous diners would do well to try the eggplant sambal with dried shrimp.
