Scubar, Sydney

Open since 1997, Scubar is still one of the city's most popular bar, lounge and club. With an endless influx of patrons, it is the venue when you are feeling happy and wearing your party shoes. Cleverly kitsch and a mishmash of styles, Scubar combines a leopard skin pool table and futon with beaded curtains, carpeted walls and white bucket seats: très tasteful and equally attractive to after work drinkers and the late night teeny-hopper contingent. Drinks are reasonably priced but food is limited. The music is great and plays six nights a week at a high decibel level.
