The Empire Hotel, a grand colonial building, stands majestically on a street corner two blocks west of Queen Street. This fine Victorian building has served as a public bar since its construction in 1870. It has been completely refurbished and is a popular party place with two bars and a cafe/brasserie (operating during the day only). There is also a large gaming area with pool and darts. They offer free live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
