Just one hour south of Auckland City, on the Hauraki Plains, lies this quiet country golf club. Here your game will only be disturbed by the surprising sound of a cow on heat. There are plenty of well-placed trees and perhaps a dozen bunkers. A creek runs through three of the front nine holes. The par four 14th, 'Calamity', is the hardest hole on the course, and its angled fairway will test any mid-handicapper. The staff and locals are friendly, happy to play with visitors, and willing to pour you a pint at the 19th.
