Christ Church Cathedral was designed by English architect George Gilbert Scott, the Christ Church Cathedral was built in 1881. Unfortunately the cathedral was mostly destroyed in the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes and aftershocks. The cathedral is being rebuilt and a Cardboard Cathedral is located at the site. The Cardboard Cathedral is a temporary worship shot and is created out of cardboard tubes as well as normal construction material.
