Green Parrot (The), Wellington

This fully licensed steak house is an integral part of the city's nightlife. Look out for the great green parrot on the window and do not expect too much inside, it is functional, uses formica, and is suited to those looking for a hearty meal. Forget nouvelle cuisine and enjoy the varied menu of old-fashioned New Zealand favourites,  five kinds of fish including groper and flounder, Whitebait Omelettes and grilled meats. Wash it down with almost anything from behind the well stocked bar. The restaurant is open from monday to friday from 5pm till late night and on sundays its open from 5pm till 10pm.
