The Gallery, an interesting mix of art and history, depicts New Zealand through the eyes of local painters, photographers, sculptors and cartoonists. Exhibitions that change frequently at New Zealand Portrait Gallery are dedicated to telling the stories of New Zealanders, what they have done, where they have come from and why they became the people they were.
