The epicenter of outdoor recreation seems an odd venue for a celebration of world media, but this festival is one of the industry's most important events. The festival, hosted in the palatial Banff Springs Hotel, is geared mainly for media moguls, producers and (gush!) television stars. Still, there are plenty events for those living outside the box. Enjoy public screenings of award winning and cutting edge television, attend lectures by industry insiders, or sit back and listen as the pros discuss what's "hot" on the small screen. Most public events are free. Check website for more details.
