Overview
Orienteering is finding your way around the woods using a map and compass to the next check point, it can be fun, very serious competition, or a bit of both. The Alberta Orienteering Association produce maps and organize events over eight levels of difficulty taking up to an hour to run, families are openly encouraged to take part. At the highest levels of difficulty, it's a strenuous sport for top athletes. Check website for more details.
