Overview
Vascular Plant Herbarium is one of the largest of its kind in Alberta and the third largest in Canada. It is located in the Biological Sciences Building of the University of Alberta. This interesting vascular plant collection dates from 1912 and comprises over 250,000 specimens. The collection is split into three categories, including teaching, reference, and the main collection. It is a fascinating place to visit. Specimens from the herbarium are frequently requested on loan from institutions around the world. Admission is free.
