Escargot is not really considered seafood in Halifax, and this restaurant in the Citadel Hotel, is one of a few that offers the delicious little mollusks. Those seeking lighter fare will be pleasantly surprised by the lobster salad which contains lobster meat and fresh sliced mango atop exotic greens. Heartier eaters will find lamb Evangeline a treat which is essentially a boneless rack of lamb on a bed of spinach. The room at botaniCa Restaurant and Lounge sports tablecloths with warm earth tones under subdued lighting. Comfort is the key here and the serving staff is alert and friendly.
