Formed from three separate heritage homes, the Halliburton is a mash-up of a high-end and a boutique hotel. Every one of the 29 rooms is different—and lovely. The hotel restaurant, Stories, is one of Halifax’s best-kept secrets and well worth a visit even if you aren’t a hotel guest. The location is good, in the South End and close to some great coffee shops, restaurants and bars, and a short walk to every major attraction in the city.
