Located in the same east end Montreal art deco building that houses the Théâtre Denise-Pelletier, this performance space has been presenting experimental and avant-garde theater since it opened in 1978. Regular troupes include the Théâtre Pupulus Mordicus and Théâtre La Rubrique. Most recently, the theater invited one of France's top actors, Philippe Avron, to put on the one-person Je Suis un Saumon. Other recent productions include Quebec playwright Michel Tremblay's classic Hosanna and an evening with readings from Arthur Rimbaud.
