Named after a traditional Aboriginal dish, this is city's only Native Canadian restaurant. Located on the Wendake Indian Reserve, about 20 minutes from the Old City, the specialty here is game meats like buffalo, deer, and caribou. The dining area is furnished in traditional decor. Guests enjoy dishes like buffalo stew, flambéed deer with brandy, and conserve of duck pizza. If you are in the mood for something different, Sagamité is definitely the place to go. Other simpler choices are on the menu for those not quite ready for the complete Aboriginal culinary experience.
