At the time of its opening in 1949, Massey Theatre was the largest of its kind in the district. The 1260 seats of the venue are occupied weekly by theater enthusiasts who are treated to performances of varied kinds which include dance, musical performances, plays, ukulele ensembles, and touring symphonies, and its stage has seen legends from around the world perform in front of dazzled and marveled audiences. Today, Massey Theatre runs as a non-profit organization satisfied to provide artists the limelight and survive on donations and event revenues.
