Overview
The first version of this Japanese delight was in Edo, Japan, founded in 1933. In 1974, Sadao Ohno, a pupil from the original restaurant, opened Winnipeg's first sushi bar. These auspicious beginnings have flourished into a full-fledged restaurant that continues to serve excellent sushi along with complete dinners. The prices are reasonable, so the clientele ranges from business people to arts students. The main room is brightly lit and has aquariums found in many of the city's Asian restaurants. There is also a private dining room, complete with low tables and a no-shoes requirement.
