Open daily from 10a, Las Cortaderas draws a mostly local crowd, and with good reason. Sitting snugly between residential buildings in Palermo, Las Cortaderas could easily be overlooked, although it shouldn't be. The cuisine, like the crowd, is typical of Buenos Aires; pasta, steak, and chicken plates are offered with a variety of creamy or peppery sauces, and wine flows like the nearby Rio de la Plata. Deep red brick walls seem to amplify not only the noise, but also the excitement of the friends and families who frequent the restaurant. Many often seem as comfortable here as in their own homes: joking, shouting, hugging, even smooching. It’s certainly hard not to be excited, considering the bill for all this entertainment is so reasonable.
