The two storied interior ceiling gives an incredible sense of open air indoors. Square wooden tables covered with paper tablecloths and straight back straw chairs are closely packed, creating a lively social atmosphere. The outdoor seating on the cobblestone sidewalk is also full when the weather is nice. The menu is quite complete. Dishes include specialties prepared in country-style clay pots such as butternut squash soup and locro (corn) and other regional dishes such as tamales and empanadas from Salta Province. Classic Argentine barbeque is served on traditional wooden dishes. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed. Argentine "mate" tea is served in the afternoons for those interested in experiencing this traditional national pastime. - Miriam Cutler
