Overview

Named after ancient Rome's northern road, Via Flaminia is renowned for its ice cream cone bathed in chocolate. Ice cream is artfully piled high by hand on the cone in the shape of a pointed tower and then dipped in chocolate that freezes instantly. The handheld monument can reach up to one foot high and is served in a specially designed plastic cup. The ice cream is classic Italian: rich and creamy with strong flavors. Consistently listed as one of the best places in town, there is also table service. Red bow-tied waiters in uniforms serve coffee and special ice cream desserts at tables located indoors and outdoors along elegant Libertador Avenue. -Miriam Cutler
