Leblon may be more commonly associated with formal dining and upscale palaces than relaxed bar-restaurants, but locals have flocked to this informal bar since it opened in early 2012. The blue and white tiles on the walls give Bar do Bacana the feel of an old-world drinking spot, but the hip younhg types that flock here bring it right up to date with their fashionable casualwear. The bar serves simple, traditional Brazilian dishes at prices that are more accessible to the average wallet than those at most eating and drinking spots in this affluent neighborhood, making it the ideal spot for some cold beers and a plate of pasteis (stuffed pastries). More substantial dishes include grilled trout with broccoli rice, a Brazilian specialty. -Lucy Bryson
