Bar Veloso, Rio de Janeiro

This bar at the heart of fashionable Leblon has modeled itself on the retro image of Rio's old school botequims (relaxed bar-restaurants), but that hasn't deterred the neighborhood's fashionable young things from gathering here to eat, drink and relax. A bar that appeals to a wide range of ages, Veloso has an equally wide-ranging menu, taking in everything from light soups and salads for the body conscious crowd to more substantial grilled meat and pasta dishes and deep-fried bar snacks.
