Barzin, Rio de Janeiro

A great spot for post-beach drinks and nibbles, Barzin has been attracting hordes of fashionable locals since it opened in 2011. Part of its appeal to the neighborhood's wealthy elite is the fact that the bar is owned by four famous names from the world of Brazilian show business, including singer Di Ferrero of the band NX Zero, and hip hop star Tulio Dek. Located close the the beach, the bar is packed with the type of show-stopping beauties that Ipanema is famous for, while the drink list is almost as mouthwatering as the clientele. Try the JB Limon - whiskey, lemonade and cherry juice - accompanied by a delicious pastry stuffed with palm heart and pequi, a native Brazilian fruit with a unique, indescribable taste. -Lucy Bryson
