One of very few Mexican eateries in Rio, this 2009 newcomer to the city's dining scene offers delicious snacks and main meals at prices that are surprisingly reasonable, given the prime Ipanema location. Owned by a team from California, the restaurant offers excellent versions of spicy staples such as nachos and enchiladas, all made with the freshest possible ingredients. It's clear that the restaurant is a real labor of love, with the owners taking great care to serve up high-quality dishes at prices that are affordable to even the most cash-strapped of visitors to Rio. Expect to pay less than at other locations for a hearty serving of enchiladas with rice and beans. The cocktail menu is good too, making this a great spot for post-beach food and drinks. - Lucy Bryson
