Carambola, Rio de Janeiro

Carambola means starfruit, you know that delectable little exotic green fruit that tastes similar to an apple and a grape? And though this little fruit from Sri Lanka is not necessarily featured on the menu, the variety of other dishes from Brazil are masterfully prepared, such as Galeto à Carambola which is pork with farofa, feijão and Portuguese potatos and even the classic American cheeseburger. From a simple breakfast to executive lunches and dinners, Carambola appears to appease any appetite. One other beneficial attribute at Carambola is its location, surrounded by tropical mountains and the beautiful Lagoa (lake) just outside the door, this is a spectacular area just to venture into.
