Overview
Located at the mid-point between lively Lapa and scenic Santa Teresa (hence the name), Casa Alto Lapa Santa showcases some of the most interesting exhibitions and performances to visit the city. A case in point is the Orixas show, which runs each year from June to August. The show brings to life the rituals, dances and deities that form part of Afro-Brazilian religions, and is an explosion of sight and sound. There are also varied photography and art exhibitions. The small bar at Casa Alto Lapa Santa is a nice spot for a pre-show beer or caipirinha. - Lucy Bryson
