It can be tricky to find affordable food in Leblon, home of Rio's rich elite, but Casa Clipper is that rarest of things, a relaxed bar and restaurant with simple, well-prepared dishes. Hungry visitors to Rio would be wise to take advantage of their lunch deals, which usually feature fish, chicken or meat with the traditional Brazilian sides, fries, rice, black beans, salad and farofa (fried, seasoned yucca flour). Dishes are big enough for two light eaters or one person with a hearty appetite. The meals are a very good value for the area. There are a-la-carte options too, including pizzas and a very good shrimp risotto; diners can sample feijoada, Brazil's hearty national dish of beans and assorted cuts of meat.
