Overview
Fort Copacabana was built in 1914 to defend Guanabara bay. The fort offers many attractions for its visitors. Roughly every month there are different exhibitions of histoical Rio de Janeiro The main exhibition is the Army Historical Museum, which details the life and times of the Brazilian army. The museum has a high-tech multimedia terminal and video exhibitions. Outside of the fort you'll get a lovely view of Copacabana and Ipanema beach, which are the two most famous beaches in Rio de Janeiro.
