Goyabeira, Rio de Janeiro

Visitors to Santa Teresa tend to head for the cluster of bars and restaurants around Largo do Guimaraes, but venturing a little further into the neighborhood takes you to possibly the neighborhood's best spot for a light meal and a drink. Bar Goyabeira is an informal, dimly lit little place with antique furniture, good draught and bottled beer, and delicious food. The pizzas here are particularly popular, and for good reason – they come laden with tasty toppings and plenty of herbs.
