It s worth calling in advance to book a table by the window at Hansl–the views over Barra da Tijuca beach are absolutely stunning. Austrian food is the order of the day at this off-the-beaten-track spot, and deliciously decadent fondues are the house specialty. Their meaty broths also come in a seafood version, which combines shrimp, salmon and squid—delicious.
