Intihuasi, Rio de Janeiro

With a dining scene that takes in the cuisine of almost every continent on Earth, it's somewhat surprising that Rio is lacking in restaurants serving quality food from other South American countries. The notable exception is Intihuasi, where diners can enjoy a tangy pisco sour cocktail while sampling delicious traditional Peruvian dishes. There are several types of ceviche (seafood marinated in lemon) to choose from, and good finger food includes balls of yucca served with cheese and/or shrimp. The mixed couvert of light snacks, including Peruvian olives and delicious dips, is highly recommended as a starter for two people. - Lucy Bryson
