Jack Tequila, Rio de Janeiro

Mexican food has been surprisingly slow to take off in Rio de Janeiro, but Jack Tequila is one of a scattering of places where Tex Mex fans can satisfy a hankering for tacos, burritos, quesadillas and the like. A lengthy drinks list (the Margaritas, unsurprisingly, are a hit) helps create a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and dishes such as the hearty Ultimate Nachos are perfect for sharing. The rodoizio (as many dishes as you can manage, for a fixed price), is a good option for hearty appetites. Elsewhere on the menu are tasty versions of favorites such as spicy chicken wings and filled potato skins, and there are a handful of vegetarian options for non meat-eaters. -Lucy Bryson
