Located underneath one of Rio's cheapest and most popular backpacker hostels, Sambavilla, this 2009 addition to the lively Lapa drinking scene has fast become a key meeting point for foreigners in Rio. One of the scatterings of Irish bars across the city, this is the first to open outside the beach neighborhoods of the Zona Sul and provides a welcome opportunity for English speakers to order food and drinks in their mother tongue. Imported beers like Guinness and traditional dishes like fish and chips are popular orders, but it's the opportunity to meet other visitors to the city that is the real draw for tourists and backpackers.
