Opened in 1972, this traditional Centro lunch spot is a great place to sample Brazilian cuisine with a few international touches. Of the staunchly Brazilian options, one of the best is the carne seca—sun-dried beef—with creamed pumpkin, white rice and traditional Brazilian black beans. Elsewhere, there are Arab and German touches, including lentilha garni, a hearty dish involving lentils with smoked meat, as well as German white sausage and bacon. Check the daily lunch specials for some good-value midday eats.
